A special anti-terrorism court has summoned record of joint account of former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf and his wife Sehba Musharraf while hearing a petition filed by Sehba Musharraf.
The court Saturday heard the proceedings of the petition filed by Sehba Musharraf against freezing of assets and bank accounts in Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s murder case. During the course of hearing, Special Public Prosecutor Chaudhry Zulfiqar, on behalf of FIA, told the court that investigation officer of the case, Khalid Rasool, has been transered to Dera Ismail Khan as a deputy director and no officer has been placed for the investigation of this case.
Ilyas Siddiqui who is counsel for Sehba Musharraf said the court has frozen accounts by declaring Pervez Musharraf a proclaimed offender in Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s murder case. He stated that these accounts were joint types, so the court should reopen those accounts.
Special Public Prosecutor Chaudhry Zulfiqar said, “According to law, no action could be taken over such petitions until the proclaimed offender is arrested.” He added that they had written to the British government and Interpol for arresting Parvez Musharraf, but he had not been arrested nor had he surrendered so far. He presented references of previous judgments and PLD 2010.
The court ordered the special public prosecutor to produce record of the joint account on the next hearing. The court also directed the FIA to get record of accounts from the investigation officer and submit it to the court. Later, the court adjourned the hearing till July 14.

  1. Is this the way to honor the best president Pakistan has ever had? His only mistake was that he let nawaz and family leave the country alive. He should have killed them when he had a chance. Thats what you get for being a nice guy.
