Shahbaz Sharif sets up camp at Liaquat Bagh

Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif set up a camp at Liaquat Bagh here Saturday to add his voice with the protesting masses against prolonged and unscheduled loadshedding in Punjab.

According to provincial government communiqué, Shahbaz Sharif on the very first day (Saturday) of the camp held a meeting there and reviewed the pace of work on the ongoing development projects of the city.

Officials briefed the chief minister about the Leh Expressway project. He directed the authorities for restarting the work on the project and constituted a committee for its timely execution.

It should be mentioned that Leh Expressway project was initiated by former minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed during Pervez Musharraf era but the development work was stopped after he left the office.

A meeting of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) office bearers and provincial government officials was also held at camp office. The meeting discussed the development projects needed for the city and future line of action regarding power outages in Punjab.

Hundreds of citizens, knowing about the Shahbaz Sharif presence at Liaquat Bagh protest camp also rushed there with their complaints where they scuffled with the security persons as they were not allowed to enter the camp for security reasons.

Talking to media persons on the occasion Chief Minister Punjab said that his efforts were to help the people of the province to get rid of the prolonged and unscheduled loadshedding. He admitted that there was shortage of electricity but said Punjab was being given discriminatory treatment which was not acceptable at all.

Shahbaz went on saying that he would step ahead towards Islamabad to protest for basic rights of people of his province if the demands were not fulfilled.

  1. Shareef brothers are dishonest persons and corrupt politicians. They have looted the wealth of this nation like any other corrupt rulers. Now shareef brothers are facing the most serious challenge of their political life and that too at the hands of invincible man, Imran Khan.
    For shareef brothers this is the epic struggle fo their political survival but mind you, for them writing is already on the wall. They are going to lose and Imran khan is going to win.
    Every rise has a fall. It is the lesson of history and the law of nature. For shareef brothers the end is in sight.
    What shahbaz shareef is doing now is to try to prolong that inevitable , hars and inglorious end.
