On 26th June , news were flashed all over the media that the Aiwan-e-Sadr had pardoned Sarabjeet Singh and converted his death sentence into life imprisonment. There were celebrations across the border and rightly so.
But on 27th June, it was clarified that the orders for the release of Surjit Singh were issued instead. One felt sorry for the family of Sarabjeet Singh .
This comedy of errors emanating from the Aiwan-e-Sadr and our irresponsible media is nothing new for us Pakistanis . We have gotten used to such jokes. One would like to know the public at large is taken simply as fools by design or due to incompetence?
