Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Wednesday, and congratulated him on assuming the responsibilities of the prime minister of Pakistan.
Raisani was accompanied by Mir M Asim Kurd, Mir Ali Madad Jattak, Captain Afzal Khaliq Achakzai, Yousuf Molazai and Ehsan Shah.
The chief minister invited the new PM to visit Balochistan at the earliest to address the problems of Balochistan. He also apprised Asharf about the development projects in the province, saying that such initiatives would raise the standard of living of the people. Ashraf directed the Finance Ministry to convene a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) at the earliest to resolve the issues related to the development projects in Balochistan. He said that Balochistan was a very important federating unit, and the country’s prosperity and strategic interests were intertwined with the socio-economic development of Balochistan. Ashraf said that he would visit Balochistan early next month to ascertain the situation on the ground to review the implementation of earlier decisions to remove the deprivation and alienation of the Baloch people.
