Pakistan’s interior ministry on Sunday issued new guidelines for the foreigners traveling to Peshawar and the tribal areas of Pakistan.
According to a notification issued by the interior ministry, the foreigners, traveling to Peshawar, should submit their requests at least 12 working days in advance for security clearance.
“The guidelines will be implemented on all NGO and aid workers traveling to Peshawar and tribal areas,” the statement said.
“The foreigners will not be allowed to enter the tribal areas of Pakistan nor they would be permitted to contact or take an interview with the tribal elders,” it stated.
The notification further said that the foreigners would not be allowed to carry any weapons or prohibited material during their journey.
