At the turn of the century, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) was introduced which launched the Multi-Biometric National Identity Card. However, it seems that the authority has been incompetent in using this new technology.
I came to this conclusion recently when two of my acquaintances, who are twins, applied for their CNIC and their application got rejected in the verification and clearance process, on the basis of a ridiculous objection which said: “Unnatural age difference between two twins.”
I would request NADRA to please rectify such errors in their system immediately, as obtaining or renewing one’s CNIC is already a tedious task.
