Pakistan People’s Party Women Wing Punjab President Faiza Malik has said the election of Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf is a victory for the democracy and the people. Talking to party workers at her residence on Saturday, Faiza Malik said the PPP had defeated all its opponents on every front and that it would continue its journey to success, which she said was troublesome for the opposition. She hoped the PPP-led government would complete its constitutional tenure and form the next government. “Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Shaheed and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed sacrificed their lives for democracy and the rights of people and the PPP workers are united for the defence of democracy,” she added. Faiza said the PPP will not allow any conspiracy to succeed against democracy. She said the PML-N wanted to topple the PPP-led government but the election of the new prime minister had proven to be a setback to it.
