The great democratic leader Fauzia Wahab’s untimely death is a big blow for Pakistan and the vacuum created after her death will never be filled. She was an honest and the great lady, an outspoken secular and visionary leader and a woman of highest integrity. She fought for democracy, human rights and women empowerment. She is an iconic figure for all the lovers of democracy. Her sacrifices for her party, Pakistan Peoples Party, were matchless and would be long remembered. She is no more but her legacy remains with us. We all should continue her mission. To honour her efforts for democracy and her services rendered for fundamental human rights, the government should confer Pakistan’s highest civil award, Nishaan-i-Imtiaz, posthumously on her.
