An unholy nexus

It was President Eisenhower of the US who had warned that the US should not allow the formation of a military industrial complex in the country which would be harmful for the country.
However precisely the same thing happened wherein military and industry producing weapons got together and that led the US to start wars throughout the world even at the cost of making the country bankrupt and to be financed by China. Army generals got re-employed by arms manufacturing companies that sold armament to the government.
In Pakistan, an industrialist (albeit not an arms manufacturer but a house builder) made a military-industry nexus that employed retired army generals in a symbiotic arrangement that spawned a multi billion rupee empire that corrupted the entire social fabric of Pakistan by building an industry that did not produce a lasting institution to build a power station or a food processing project but bricks and mortar buildings that did not generate milk or honey for the people.
