Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry, by taking action against his son Arsalan, proved that everyone is equal in front of him.
An institution cannot be penalized for a mistake of an individual, said Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Yaseen Azad while addressing a press conference on Saturday.
The matter is between two individuals; accordingly, the judiciary should not be dragged in between, he advised adding the volley of accusations should follow a prior research and without concrete evidence, the matter should not be furthered ahead.
The SC Bar President hoped everyone will have a fair opportunity to transparent trial in the investigations. He demanded the inquiry report be brought to fore and the one responsible for the entire episode be punished.
Azad stressed everybody including politicians, lawyers and media persons should be subjected to accountability, adding action should be taken up against those who elicited benefits from real estate tycoon Malik Riaz.
Those who matter most in Pakistan must act on suggestion of the President of SCBA, by constituting a high powered commission to thoroughly scrutinize the assets of Lawyers, Media Persons, Judges, Politicians, Generals and Top business people. The members of such a commission must be men of transparent honesty and integrity. For Pakistan to have a ray of hope to survive and progress, eliminating corrupt elements through such a commission will be the first step in the right direction.
