I also watched Malik Riaz’s interview with Dunya News the other day to simply gather my first impressions about his personality and also his business acumen, my university subject. He could have fared better.
It is commonly known that an important norm of businessmen, who are out for profit, is not to challenge or even remotely displease others. Also not doing so with their body language.
In the instant case of bribery, to emphasise his version of a point, he took out a small Holy Quran from his pocket. He came that much prepared for the interview. Earlier, as a matter of right, he may have discussed with a few reliable friends in privacy, who may be following the case, as to what to speak or leave out during the interview as well as in the SC. But I failed to understand one point. What would have been better for the Pakistani businessman’s secrecy and the goodwill of his firm was to write-off the involved amount of bribery or to opt for a legal action.
