Punjab soon to be polio-free: Salman Rafique

Special Assistant to the CM Punjab for Health Khawaja Salman Rafique Tuesday said that on the directions of CM Shahbaz Sharif, the Health Department was working on a strategy to eradicate polio from Punjab during the current year.
While administering polio drops to the children of Delhi gate, inside the walled city, and to inaugurate the Short Interval Additional Doze Strategy (SIADS) Activity for Polio Eradication in Lahore, he said that all the DCOs had been tasked to strictly monitor the anti-polio campaign in their respective districts, whereas the chief secretary Punjab was to monitor the situation at the provincial level.
This campaign would be continued from 13th to 15th June in 41 sensitive UCs of five towns. During this campaign more than four hundred thousand children of upto 5 years of age would be administered polio vaccine drops and 1200 mobile teams had also been constituted for this purpose.
