Supreme Court lawyer Asma Jahangir said the Memo commission proved to be a party as well as a judge of the Memogate scandal. “The delivery of justice does not mean defaming the people,” she said, observing that such commissions were also made in the past and that the history must change now.
Talking to the media on Tuesday, Jahangir said the Memo commission should have heard all the parties on equal grounds and should have searched for facts, instead of confirming any one person as a traitor. She said if Mansoor Aijaz had admitted to writing the memo, there was no point in saying that he was compelled to compose the memo. She said the statement of Mansoor Aijaz was recorded via a video-link but that prejudice was shown in the case of Hussain Haqqani. She stated that if the memo commission case was not included in the cause-list of the Supreme Court, then there was no ground for the commission to take up the case.

  1. Ms Jahangir you are missing the point and misleading Pakistani people by twisting the stories, Haqqani was a Pakistani diplomat and represented Paksitan, Mansoor Ejaz on the other hand was not a Pakistani National. Haqqani was perfectly safe in PM house, he intentially ran away to avoid being caught and you have helped him in doing so and promised to appear in court within 3 days notice, Failed to do so.

This is not new, you have always been in support of other side to Pakistani interests.

    • Really truth bites you. Even Mansoor Ejaz did not say that Memo was written by Haqani. He said he wrote Memo himself. But wherefrom SC concluded that it was written by Haqani, even Mansoor Ejaz did not say that before commission. What he said before commission was that Haqani asked him to write Memo.
