The gruesome incident of five female tourists being allegedly raped by Border Military Police officials in Dera Ghazi Khan took a nasty turn late on Saturday when several dozen tribesmen attacked a police station and got freed three of the cops accused of rape by the victim girls.
Following breaking of the news, the Fort Munro superintendent of police had arrested three of the five officials accused of raping five girls who came to Fort Munro from Lahore for a recreational visit. Police have registered a case against the attackers. Earlier, Border Military Police Commandant Tariq Basra had told reporters that the girls had been stopped by the accused security officials on the pretext of checking. The cops later took the girls to a police station and five of them subjected them to gang rape.
The commandment had said a team had been formed to investigate the matter while medical checkup of the girls had also been ordered. He had said the accused policemen had been suspended and raids were being carried out to arrest the accused. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had also taken notice of the incident and directed the DG Khan commissioner to submit a report into the incident at the earliest.

  1. very sad on the part of the security personals whose main job is to protect the nation but they themselves involved in such heinous crime. They should be dealt with an iron hand and should be made a lesson for the whole security staff.

  2. This government of Pakistan is raping the nation every single day wiyhout any consequences

  3. Khakis and the elites have been raping this country everyday and night. It is now military police's turn.

  4. Omg!

Is it the same Islamic Republic of Pakistan which was carved out from India to protect the interests of muslims, to give muslims an environment to worship Allah without any obstacle. Was it this Islam Jinnah talking about for partition of India. Cant believe this!

PLEASE PLEASE DONT DEFAME ISLAM I REQUEST TO ALL PAKISTANIS.

  5. South Punjab is a Jiala vote bank! These idiot soldiers must be Jialas, hired into the police by some Jiala MNA/MPA as only Jialas can go down till this level of frustration, shame & unworthiness!

  6. So like Arslan Iftikhar Punjab government is also innocent & has no responsabilty. What a biased & callous comments by PML (N) supporters….

  7. The BMP is drawn from Tribals of DG Khan. There is a percentage for each. These include Legharis, Mazaris, Buzdars, Dreshaks, Kaiseranis, Khosas etc. Fort Munro is located in Leghari Tumman. The public reps from these areas are PML(N) or now PTI people. Will Shahbaz Sharif and Imran Khan wake up?

  8. Catch the tribesmen and the three accused, no matter what it takes, and send them for a summary trial and spot executions, immediately. If not execution then a summary trial and castration. Otherwise, law and order in Pakistan has been lost. Salams

  9. We need to think of poor girls who are subject to such an act of brutality. What will happen to their future, how their parents, family members will react and how will they coup their future life? I do agree that culprits need to be punished rather exemplary but unfortunately our system seldom sets such examples, normally they will get away one pretext or the other. The funniest part is that orders of inquiry are given by all high ups but result is zero, what kind of justice, we as a nation get from our own elected rulers and officials, whose salaries and perks are given from the tax we pay.

  11. If these women were examined and the DNA of the men found on them this will be an open and shut case. Why is it that men stick together, these women cannot be blamed for exposing themselves, wearing short skirts (as our women do) they seem to have been covered from head to toe, incredible that men need to do this.We are having quite a few cases of RAPE here in UK by men of Pakistani heritage, it seems that Pakistani men have little respect for women.

    • There are bad people in every society and not all are worse humans, same goes in all socities and same goes in Pakistan. It is tragic and sad incident. I do agree that recently few cases have been detected in UK involving men from Pakistani origin but now they are more of UK citizen and not much of Pakistani. Some of the issue do rest with the society in UK of such people, to investigate how such men get on such path and circumstances leading to it.Respect to women is fundamental principle of Islam and I am firm believer of it and majority of fellow muslims are as well.

      • The big difference is, in Pakistan, these kind of criminals commit their crime with impunity …

Show me one instance when a police or a military personnel was actually punished for a crime like this, particularly in Punjab?

As much I see in the news around, 'Respect to Women' ends at 'Family Honor' (thus kill or throw acid) only in the Islamic world …

  12. all the above comments confuse a human tragedy with politics…whether they are from PMLN, PTI, PPP or Military…We need to protect our citizens, women, children, shias, Ahmadis, hindus, christian and stand united for their protection. What shameless act and what insensitive above comments. Is this the state of mind of our vocal English reading people. I am sure you must have gone to best school. Where is human compassion, empathy and pain one feels for other. Please think before you hit the keyboard. Thank you

  13. It is a sad incidence indeed deplorable and inhumane, if it has so happened. There are certain uncertain questions too, in my mind. According tolocal norms in Pakistan, whether the visit of young girls to such a Godforsaken place like Fort Monro was a safe move. They were unmarried student and going to see the fiance of one of them and that too in the most undeveloped, semitribal zone of Dera Ghazi Khan with a dominant Baluch tradition and code of conduct applicable to a tribal area. Where were their parent, brother and others. I think such an safe move per se was a dangerous one. The case needs to be probed in and the culprits brought to the task.

    • If your jurisprudence and sense of priorities are typical in the military brigadiers, then we better castrate all of them or forget Pakistan …
