Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) is facing an electricity shortfall of 450 megawatts against the total demand of around 1,000 MW of its system, the HESCO spokesman informed here on Tuesday.
Sadiq Kubar informed that the power distribution company was witnessing a severe shortage due to which 8 to 12 hours load shedding was being carried out. “We are implementing an 8 hours per day schedule in the urban areas and 12 hours in the rural,” he added.
The industrial areas, however, were spared the prolonged outages except for 2 hours daily load shedding, he said. The HESCO, he said, appeals to its consumers to avoid unnecessary use of electricity and also to pay their utility bills timely.
