A seven-year-old girl was killed and four others including two other girls were injured when roof of a dilapidated house caved in here on Monday morning.
According to Rescue 1122 sources, roof of a decrepit house owned by a motorcycle mechanic identified as Abdul Wahid, located in Delhi Gate area of Multan, suddenly came down on early Monday burying the residents under the rubble.
The rescue personnel and relatives of the victim family dug out the five injured including Areeba, 07, Marriyam, 06, and Maham, 05, from the rubble of the collapsed house and shifted them to Nishtar Hospital Multan where Areeba succumbed to her wounds.
Rescue sources said that the house was in decaying condition and needed repair but the owner due to poor economic position was not able to do so which resulted in the tragic mishap.
