On 28 May 1998, Pakistan became the first Muslim country to detonate nuclear bombs and thus got this so-called title of a first Muslim nuclear power. The effects of this action of our trigger happy military and credulous politicians can still be seen in the form of a poor population, sanctions, nuclear proliferation, international discrimination and severe criticism. In other words, even the atom has not helped us much in becoming a stronger, better and prosperous country. But if we had worked better on the economic front, no such issue would have arisen in the first place.
