Turkey playing vital role in Punjab’s uplift: Shahbaz

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the Punjab government is happy over the visit of Turkish parliamentarians to the country.
He said that Turkey has been playing an important role in the development of the Punjab and there are longstanding relations between Pakistan and Turkey, adding the latter has always extended invaluable cooperation towards the former. He said Istanbul and Lahore are twin cities. He added Lahorites had extended a rousing welcome to the mayor of Istanbul during his visit to Lahore.
He was talking to a five-member delegation of Turkish parliamentarians, led by Burhan Kayaturk in Government House, Murree, on Tuesday. Advisor to Chief Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar was also present on this occasion.
The chief minister invited the Turkish delegation to Lahore and said that he and his government are anxiously waiting for their visit. He said that Turkey has extended commendable cooperation for the development of various sectors in the Punjab. The leader of the Turkish delegation, Burhan Kayaturk, accepted the chief minister’s invitation to visit Lahore and said that a delegation of Turkish parliamentarians will visit the city in November this year. He welcomed the sentiments of goodwill of the chief minister and said that the Turkish parliamentarians will be happy to visit Lahore as it will also provide them an opportunity to learn more about the city. He said that Turkey is also desirous of investment in trade and industrial sector in the Punjab.
