CTP launches drive to impound wheelers’ bikes

The City Traffic Police (CTP) have launched a special drive in Rawalpindi city to impound altered motorcycles of one-wheelers.
Chief Traffic Officer, (CTO) Superintendent Police (SP) Syed Ishtiaq Shah talking to APP said that strict orders have been issued to all the traffic wardens, Inspectors, Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) of all sectors that no one should be spared and all the youngsters particularly those found moving on the city roads on altered motorcycles especially prepared for one wheeling should be impounded.
CTP have launched special drive against wheelie and made several arrangements to curb the activity aimed at protecting the youngsters as one wheeling is a cause of deaths and severe injuries for the riders said City Traffic Officer (CTO).
He said those found involved in the activity will be sent behind the bars under section 99/A. Ishtiaq Shah said though, the activity was already being checked by traffic officials deputed on the city roads but special arrangements have been made to control rash and dangerous driving and one wheeling in the city.
He said traffic police officers were directed to keep a vigilant eye on the one-wheelers so that action in accordance with the law could be taken against them. Under special arrangements, traffic officials are being deployed at various points. The traffic officers and circle heads have been directed to take stern action against the one-wheelers without discrimination.
