According to religious teachings only good deeds of deceased are to be highlighted, and deficiencies withheld. But, people attached to public/media assignments; their works as well as conduct as a whole would remain under scrutiny for times to come. This is the spirit which has prompted me to share my experience with the readers. In present times if personal interview is not granted; telephone conversation, or email contact is as good as meeting somebody. What landed me at Muratza were some issues with the magazine staff over my submissions. I desired to have personal meeting, but it was discouraged. However, we had conversation on telephone. His emails still in my inbox would remind me about his way of thinking.
Since my four pieces were not accepted for one reason or another. I was eager to approach next level of magazine staff just to know what was wrong in the write up. And, I was ready to improve them. As prior to it my some writings had duly appeared in the magazine. To my utter disappointment he said that that was not his domain, and after further insistence, he replied in an email on 4 April, 2011 which still was not sufficient for me.
In fact I hold firm opinion that different tiers of authority in any organizational set up have been formed to create checks and balances. And higher authority was there to intervene and issue guidance to the people working under him/her, or even override them if it is allowed by the facts/merit. Otherwise why to create vast structure?
There is no intention of hurting the feelings of Muratza’s family or his friends. I would pray that not only his killers are brought to justice, but murderers who are causing death of innocent people across the country would be captured, and awarded appropriate punishment.
