The Peshawar High Court on Tuesday directed Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani to initiate court martial proceedings against the officials of secret agencies allegedly involved in the forced disappearances of people. The instructions came during the hearing of the missing persons’ case. PHC Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan was hearing the case. During the hearing a youth, Abdul Hassan, who had gone missing six months ago, told the court that he had been detained for four months and was abandoned in Risalpur on March 22. “It seems that secret agencies are involved in the disappearance of youth, and army chief should order an investigation and court martial proceedings against the officers responsible,” the chief justice remarked. 1. Yea right as if the army chief of Pakistan's owner (military) will ever do that. We are all slaves of the Pak army and give them 'bhatta' in shape of taxes. We are their slaves including the courts. You wish they would listen to you sir.

  2. I salute to the chief justice of Peshawar High Court on his courageous decision, that ISI is involved in the disappearances of civilians. Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan has not only held ISI responsible but on top of that has recommended to the Chief of Armed forces to order Court Martial of those elements who are involved in this act. Whether the army chief acts on this recommendation or not is immaterial, the significance of this decision is that a court of law has held ISI responsible and I believe that this will go a long way in preventing this inhumane act.

  3. Kiyani is a jack-ass who is not going to do anything. Pakistan seriously needs to revamp our army.
