Japan can play key role in economic development

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Tokyo, Noor Muhammad Jadmani said on Monday Japan could play a key role in economics of the Asian countries including Pakistan.
The envoy was talking to Ibaraki Prefecture Governor, Masaru Hashimoto during a meeting held here on Monday during which they discussed various issues of mutual interest. He said Japan was pride of Asia and it could work towards peace prosperity and stability of Asia in times ahead, according a message received here on Monday. The Ambassador said that Japan was an important player which could play a key role in economic development of Asian continent. The 21st century was Asia’s century and it was high time for Asian countries to forge unity among their ranks and encourage economic integration. The Ambassador extended invitation to the Ibaraki’s prefecture governor to come to Japan – Pakistan Friendship Bazaar to be held on May 26-27 in Mito city of Ibaraki prefecture. The Governor greed to attend the inaugural ceremony alongwith ambassador on May 26. The two day Bazaar is part of yearlong celebrations to mark 60th anniversary of establishment of relations between Pakistan and Japan. The proceeds from the Bazaar will go to Great East Japan Earthquake reconstruction assistance. The Ambassador expressed sympathies with quake-hit people of, May 7, typhoon in one of the Japanese region.
He expressed hope that Japanese nation would shortly overcome difficulties, resulted from last year earthquake and Tsunami, through their strong resolve, courage and hard work. The Governor, Masuru Hashimoto, informed ambassador about various manufacturing industries in the Prefecture such as Hitachi, Cannon, Komatsu and many other companies. The Governor, briefed ambassador on the reconstruction work being carried out in the earthquake and tsunami affected areas of Ibaraki Prefecture. Governor said that Ibaraki prefecture will encourage Pakistani students to come for study to a number of universities here and get training in different industries. Later, ambassador called on Mayor of Mito city, Yasushi Takahashi and thanked him for extending all out assistance to the organisers of Japan – Pakistan Bazaar to be held on May 26 – 27 in Mito. The Ambassador informed Yasushi about the salient features of the Bazaar.
The mayor apprised Ambassador about tourism industry of the Mito City. The number of tourists to Mito was drastically reduced after last year earthquake and tsunami, he added. He hoped that two-day Japan – Pakistan Bazaar would encourage a large number of domestic and international tourists to visit this city again.
