Demands for a Seraiki province are coming from few political circles. Although creation of new provinces is the need of the hour, the question is why these circles choose only Seraiki belt. I suggest that a commission should be made in this regard.
The commission should conduct a survey the country to get the opinion of the people. This will show whether they want a new province or not. This exercise should be conducted purely on merit.
After getting people’s opinion, the commission should draft recommendations and send it to the respective provincial assembly. The respective assembly should discuss the merits and demerits of the said draft. After passing through provincial assembly, the bill must go to the parliament for further discussion.
This is the right channel if people want new province. I appeal the politicians to stop doing politics on this issue.
