Lahore District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noor-ul-Amin Mengal said the allotment of shops at the Kacha fruit and vegetable market will be made on merit. He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting regarding the Kacha fruit and vegetable market, at his office on Friday.
The DCO said the construction of the market will be completed as early as possible and that all the departments concerned should cooperate to ensure the completion of the state-of-the-art market. Mengal stated that the roads connected to the market will be completed by May 30th. He stressed the need for the utilisation of all the resources available to facilitate the shopkeepers. The DCO was informed that 131 acres of land has been obtained for the market. Mengal also directed that a criterion be devised for allotment of shops and that advertisements be placed in newspapers in this regard. He also called a meeting of the auction and allotment committee on next Tuesday.
