Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Director General Mujahid Sherdil has said that distribution of loans amounting to Rs 2 million for Kharif crops has been started. Addressing a meeting here on Tuesday, Mujahid Sherdil said that the loan would be given to those farmers who have less than 50 acres of land. The loans for Kharif crops are being given under ‘Zarkhaiz Awami Zarai Scheme’ on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. The DG explained that the loan would be provided through one window operation within 72 hours of receiving the applications. He further told the meeting that all the DCO’s had been directed to take strict action in case of any complain in this regard.
