The residents of Dhoke Syedan have expressed concern over stalled construction work on two government degree colleges, each for boys and girls. The residents, expressing outrages, said that the construction work on Dhoke Syedan Government Boys and Girls Degree colleges had been delayed for lack of funds and political interests, adding that some influentials were busy in point scoring. Muhammad Salman, a resident of the area, said that they send their children to Islamabad and other areas to acquire education by paying high transport charges owing to the delayed construction work on colleges in the locality. He added that failure to start classes and completion of the construction work on the said colleges was reflective of the poor performance of the district education department. Other residents demanded the Punjab government release funds and issue directives for speedy completion of the construction work as well as start of classes at the earliest.
