Courts throughout province wore deserted look on Monday as the lawyers’ fraternity observed a black day to protest the murder of advocates Salahdin Hyder and Ali Raza, father and son, respectively. Lawyers in Karachi boycotted all courts – City Courts, Malir Courts, Drug Court, Anti-Corruption Court and High Court. After a general body meeting at Malir Courts, lawyers blocked the National Highway and chanted slogans demanding the arrest of the lawyers’ killers as well as government compensation for their family. Malir District and Session Judge Imdad Khoso and the office-bearers of the Karachi Bar Association also participated in the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Khoso said the deceased lawyer, Hyder was an asset for the lawyer’s community and he is personally examining the process of investigation. The Malir Bar Association president said that no target killer can be arrested unless terrorists are separated from the government. Karachi Bar Association President Mehmoodal Hassan said Hyder was killed only due to his profession.
