Pakistan: a hard country

Pakistan is not a failed state; this statement was given by Anatol Lieven, professor of international relations and terrorism studies at the King’s College, London, during a talk in Karachi.

My question is if a foreigner can have a positive outlook towards Pakistan and can praise our countrymen for their resilience, why can’t we?

Optimism and belief are two of the most important virtues which any successful nation must possess. And these have been the motivating forces which kept us Pakistanis going in the past despite numerous tribulations that tried to keep us down. We just need to carry our legacy of determination, belief and hope forward, and one day we will again emerge as a respectable nation on the map of this world.
