Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar said on Tuesday that the Parliamentary Committee’s recommendations on national security were not targeted against any country.
Talking to the media outside the Parliament House, she said: “We have to uphold the interests of our country.”
She said the recommendations would ensure the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country and will unite the nation on national and international issues.
“We are a responsible sovereign nation and want good relations with other nations,” she added. The foreign minister stated that for the first time, the Parliament would decide on the new rules of engagement and an independent foreign policy.
