The embassies of United States and other NATO countries took extraordinary interest in the parliament’s joint session on Tuesday in which the Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS) presented its recommendations on the terms of engagement in the war on terror.
The embassies made special arrangements for monitoring live TV coverage, and made arrangements to collect the hard copies of the entire set of recommendations. Diplomatic sources said that all envoys immediately sent their reports on the developments to their respective countries. Several diplomats were present in the parliament’s gallery reserved for them, while a large number of foreign journalists sat in the press gallery to cover the proceedings.
