The president of Pakistan delivered a record-breaking fifth address to the parliament in a country where no democratic dispensation has been able to complete its tenure. Whereas our president is the man a huge chunk of the population loves to hate, even his most rabid detractors will have to concede that he is a master manoeuvrer and practitioner of politics as an art. It seems the wily king will be atop his throne for another five years, courtesy his crafty politics.
