A constable of the Lahore Police was shot dead during a robbery bid in the Barky police precincts late on Friday. Constable Tahir Rehman, a resident of Minhala village was heading his home along with his younger brother Irfan when unidentified motorcyclists intercepted them near Sangat village and tried to rob them on gun point. Tahir and his brother resisted, causing the robbers to open fire on them. Tahir died on the spot while Irfan survived. Police started investigating the matter after removing Tahir’s body to the morgue for autopsy.
