According to a quotation, there is always a woman behind the success of a man but unfortunately in most of Pakistan a woman is not admired and respected at all. In fact, they are punished for being a woman and taken as an inferior race. Pakistani society is indeed a completely male dominated society.
Here the daughter of Eve is ruthlessly treated, brutally beaten, killed for the cause of one’s self-esteem, acid is widely used on women. She is being raped and killed just for the reason that they gave birth to a baby girl. Poverty forces them to red light areas.
We are blessed with an Islamic state but what a pity on us that it is not Islamic at all, not at least for the women. Our religion gives a highly respected status to women. She is a mother, sister, wife or daughter.
I am grieved at the fact that in our society mother is disrespected because of wife, wife is being killed for giving birth to a daughter, daughters and sisters are being killed in the name of one’s self-esteem and honour.
But it is not the case all around. We have people who know the true place of woman. Building a nation is not possible without help from women. One day, women will be able to work shoulder to shoulder with men and make Pakistan better. All we need is awareness.
