The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed a plea against PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif for embezzlement in Baitulmaal funds.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard petition filed by Al-Jehad Trust Chairman Habibul Wahab Khairi against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The petitioner told the court that Nawaz Sharif had distributed about Rs 55 million of national wealth from Pakistan Baitulmaal funds to his favourite persons in 1992. The court dismissing the petition said that the Lahore High Court (LHC) was already hearing a similar petition.

  1. Of course, if a PPP leader was involved, a suo moto was quite in order. This is sheer favoritism.
