With an aim to promote intercontinental cultural diversity to bring people of various regions across the globe at a single platform, Imperial International School and Colleges organised a day-long cultural festival titled ‘Global Village’ on its premises. The objective of the colourful gala was to help people of various countries to know about other’s culture, art, living style, food, and other socio-economic conditions with the help of a string of activities including intellectual discourses on a range of subjects.
The annual festival was attended by the students of Imperial International School and Colleges, faculty members, art lovers, and large number of overseas students. According to organisers, the festival in which students of different countries showcased their traditional and cultural performances was arranged to enhance knowledge and awareness to students about the world and people across the globe.
Cultural dance performances, musical and instrumental performances, and a wide range of food of different countries to relish the food with music was the striking feature of the evening.
A number of diplomats including Zubaid Ullo Zubaydov, Ambassador of Tajikistan, Afia, secretary to military attaché UAE, Mrs Hafsa, spouse of Nigerian Ambassador, Saddaqi, ambassador of Iran, Ali Dost, a diplomat from Iran and Heu San Mytmt, ambassador of Myanmar, were among the prominent to visit and enjoy the festival.
The annual day functions aim at promoting socio cultural relations and interaction between the young generations of international community and to help bring people close to each other for achieving the goal of understanding and betterment for the human beings.
The programme provided opportunity to the families of the students to share their experiences in different fields and understand each other’s values, way of life and traditions.
A special performance by the Iranian cultural troupe mesmerised the audience with melodious music and performance. Variety of food at food court was a novel experience for the participants who enjoyed delicious food presentations of different countries under one roof. Cultural dances of different countries in colorful costumes were highly appreciated.
Talking to this scribe, the organisers said that Imperial International School and Colleges is functional since 1992 after its registration with Cambridge University and FBISE Islamabad. “We aim to nurture innocent minds in a receptive environment to build strong foundation based on our moral, religious and social values. Our school also educate students belonging to the embassies of Tajikistan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nigeria, Afghanistan, UAE, Bosnia, Kenya, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Jordan and many more,” the official added.
