The constant state of lawlessness in Sindh, especially in Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kandh Kot, Kashmor and Jacobabad has made the life of natives miserable. These districts have produced a high degree of lawlessness and banditry. People are being kidnapped; they are being killed in tribal clashes, they are being harassed and tortured both by the Pirs and police but there is none to come to their rescue. The government is not visible anywhere in these ill-fated districts. The government officers are there only to mint money and enjoy the perks and privileges.
Indeed, my home district Larkano (mistakenly written as Larkana) was never so lawless as it has been made nowadays. Even during the draconian days of dictators who unleashed their tyranny upon the people of Sindh, this much lawlessness was not to be seen. The business community, lawyers, educationists, doctors, peasants, labourers and all others are in the fear of utter lawlessness and terror. There is none to restore law and order in this historic and culturally rich district of Sindh province.
I appeal to the president of Pakistan to take notice of lawlessness and direct strict action against those police officers and outlaws who have made the life of people hellish in Larkano.
