Child abuse can either be emotional, physical or sexual mistreatment of a child. In Pakistan, the rate of sexual and physical child abuse is increasing rapidly. This is really shameful for all of us. In recent news headlines I came across a report in which a child who was only four-year-old was sexually abused and killed brutally. A four-year-old child? Can’t he be protected? Have they got any rights for their protection? Why a child is subjected to such an atrocious act?
The condition of children’s rights in Pakistan is horrendous and cannot be ignored further. This is a serious issue that should be looked over. In recent years, both boys and girls have been sexually or physically abused. The effects of child abuse include guilt, nightmares, insomnia, etc. Abused children believe that they have no value and they also suffer from depression. This should be stopped as soon as possible. Children are like flowers and they should not be damaged, they should be flourished instead as the future of Pakistan lies in their hands.
