The city police on Monday claimed to have arrested 23 outlaws from various areas of the capital for their alleged involvement in dacoities and drug peddling and recovered gold ornaments, five pistols, one kalashnikov and cars from their possession.
According to a press release issued here by the SSP office, Ramna police nabbed three women and recovered gold ornaments which they had snatched from Rehmat Jewellers in Sector G-11. Bhara Kahu police nabbed five thieves and recovered stolen items worth Rs 200,000 from them. Margallah police nabbed a thief, Idrees while Tarnol police arrested Umar and Sajjad for keeping one 30-bore pistol each.
Shehzad Town police arrested five persons involved in murders, dacoities and for possessing illegal weapons and recovered a kalashnikov, two pistols, 490 grams of hashish, one cab and three bottles of liquor from them. The nabbed persons were identified as Ali, Arif, Tariq, Majid Hussain and Shehzad.
Sub Inspector Muneer Ahmed from Sihala police recovered a car from Tauseef while Sub Inspector Manzoor Hussain of Shalimar police arrested an accused for keeping a 30-bore pistol. Kohsar police arrested a bootlegger, Abid Masih and recovered four bottles of liquor while four persons, identified as Sajid, Rashid, Tanveer and Saif, were arrested under Amplifier Act.
