Misunderstandings exist between the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) and industrial associations because they do not coordinate with each other, Sindh Information and Electric Power Minister Shazia Marri noted on Sunday.
“High level officers of the KESC and the nominated representatives of industrial associations should bridge their communication gap,” she said while chairing a meeting at the Sindh Secretariat Committee Room.
She directed the KESC administration not to disconnect power supply to any industrial unit and before resorting to this action, hold talks with members of that industrial zone to take them into confidence.
“This mutual understanding will increase synchronisation and end the aggravation among industrialists,” she added.
The minister stressed the need to evolve a strategy so that the KESC administration and nominated representatives of the industrial associations can sort out complaints about disconnection and load management.
“Unemployment increases due to the closure of industrial units and this affects production,” she observed.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the SITE Association, KATI, FB Industrial Area, North Karachi Industrial Area Associations and Dr Naveed and other top level officials of the KESC.
