Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Tuesday filed an appeal in Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against result of seven general seats in Senate from Balochistan.
PML-N’s Rafiq Rajwana filed the appeal in ECP, seeking recount of votes on the grounds that Balochistan’s returning officer Abdul Jabar “is not familiar with the procedure of Senate polls”.
The ECP on Monday upheld results of seven seats, carrying out vote recount and sustaining the previous results of Balochistan declared by the provincial returning officer.
Voting on these general seats held on March 2 but after PML-N complained of rigging and also the wrong use of ballot-papers, the ECP Balochistan had shifted the complete record to Islamabad, withholding the results.
Nawab Magsi, Syed Hasan, Mir Israr Zehri, Muhammad Daoud Achakzai, Sardar Yousuf and other candidates were declared as triumphant on the seats by the ECP. NNI
