‘PTDC fun fair to help promote tourism activities’

A three-day fun fair, organised at the Flashman’s Hotel by Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) is continuing in full swing. Shazia Shahjahan Khetran, wife of PTDC Managing Director Mir Shahjahan Khetran inaugurated the fun fair on Friday. It was organised in collaboration with Masscomm Solutions.
At the inaugural ceremony, Mir Shahjahan Khetran said the PTDC will organise more events in the future which will help promote tourism activities in the country.
He urged the citizens to come forward and play their role for the promotion of tourism to counter negative propaganda against the country. He said the media should also help promote tourism to develop interest among the general public. The MD stated that PTDC would encourage public-private partnership to meet the target in this regard. There were handicraft, garments and food stalls in the fun fair with juggling and magic shows. A music competition was also a part of the fun fair. A play land and food stalls for children had also been arranged in addition to foolproof security arrangements. Entry in the fun fair is free and families can visit it during 10 am to 09 pm. The main attraction of fun fair on Friday was the fashion show which was organised in main hall of the hotel. Eastern, western and bridal clothing from well-known designers like Zoya, Amna Boutique, Novelty and Pechan Mall were displayed by models in the show which were appreciated by the participants. Obaid, a visitor, said: “The event will help to promote tourism activities and create a soft image of the country.”
