Pakistan has become a place where intellectuals are migrating from with great speed to make space for criminals and offenders to operate freely and blatantly with the tacit blessing of the law that has failed, it seems, to provide justice to the innocent.
By offering relentless criticism to the security forces and agencies that have gone to great length to capture these terrorists, the civil society are aiding the militants, albeit unconsciously. Without realising the unintended consequences on the security forces, the media goes on with its increased condemnation thus encouraging terror elements.
Who will provide justice to the thousands of people and soldiers who have been killed by the terrorists so far and provide solace to their families? Who will speak for their rights? Justice ought not to become a commodity to be offered to some and denied to the rest.
Do we understand that a lack of evidence against him can be interpreted as him being not guilty of charges, if so, then how does the law explain his activity in South Waziristan agency where he was ultimately killed by a drone attack?
Does that mean that when the Pakistani security forces apprehend terrorists, we are compelled not to believe them, but take great pride in offering our critique to undercut their labour, yet when the same person is killed by the United States through an aerial strike not a word is uttered by us.
In this backdrop, who takes responsibility of all the killings and attacks that could have been prevented if the investigation, judicial and execution mechanism had become as dynamic as the terrorist networks have become. The government, the media, the judiciary, who? Is it any wonder that the Pakistanis are being termed as playing a duplicitous role in the war against terror?

Pakistan today is a country ruled by high school drop-out who have joined politics and now have appointed their semi literate cronies to head state corporations like PIA, SNGPL, OGDC, PTV, PSO etc As long as this country is ruled by mediocrity, there is no place for qualified professionals with integrity or men with intellect.
Good post. If media plays the leading role and keeps the focus on injustices and corruption in the country, they could possibly force the supreme court to become not only more active but maybe make some real decisions that make a real difference. Right now, the way I see it, SC makes a lot of noise but no action. It seems like the whole country is fed up with the govt. but no one is willing to do anything about it. People are not coming out on streets and everybody wants to maintain the status quo. Unless someone shakes things up, we will keep getting the more of the same. What a tragedy.
