The Government College University Lahore is organising a three-day Grand Book Fair at the historical GCU Oval Ground from Monday, March 7 to Wednesday, March 9, 2012 to retain the interest of youth in book reading in the cyber age. GCU Chief Librarian Abdul Waheed said that the Book Fair, being organised on the special directions of Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khaleeq-ur-Rahman, would get a warm response and bring over 0.1 million books under one-roof, with an aim to rejuvenate the students’ love for books.
“Besides, as many as 40 publishers would set up their stalls at the Book Fair and offer up to 50 percent discount on their books,” he added. The inaugural ceremony of the Book Fair would be held at 9am on March 7 while the closing ceremony and certificates awarding ceremony would be organised on March 9 at the GCU Bukhari Auditorium at 3pm.
