Dr Anwer elected US State dept alumni president

Dean Humanities FC college Lahore Dr Waseem Anwer has been elected the president of state department alumni for the year 2012. Dr Waseem secured 23 votes followed by Barrister Haris with 19 votes and Aima Mehmood bagging 17 votes. The US state department held the elections for the president of the state department alumni from different programs at a local hotel. There are more than hundred registered alumni from different programs including journalism, academia and social work.
Dr Waseem Anwar is the Dean of Humanities, and the Professor and Chairperson of English at the Forman Christian College University (FCCU) in Pakistan. He is a Fulbright Fellow, with a doctoral as well as a postdoctoral studies degree in the field of Literature and Criticism at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (1995-2001) and Duke University (2007-2008). He remained the president of Fulbright Alumni Association (Lahore Chapter) from 2004 to 2007. In 2011, he earned the American Bibliographical Institute’s ‘Man of the Year’ Award.
