Known Khuzdar trader gunned down

A well known local trader Abdul Qadir Ghulamani was killed in Khuzdar district, some 300 km southeast of the Quetta on Thursday. Police said Ghulamani was buying vegetables near Jilani Chowk in Khuzdar when unknown armed men opened fire on him. He sustained serious wounds and was taken to the District Headquarters’ Hospital where he expired.
After the incident, a number of relatives rushed to the hospital and protested. Ghulmani’s body was handed over for burial after legal formalities. The motive behind the killing is yet to be ascertained. A case was registered against unknown persons and investigations are underway.
Separately, a bomb explosion took place while local police foiled an attempt of sabotage by defusing a large quantity of explosives in border town of Chaman.
Police said unidentified people had planted explosives with a car parked at Sariab Road near the Excise and Taxation office. The explosives went off with a huge blast which damaged the car and scattered the glass windows of nearby buildings. However, no loss of life occurred in the blast. Police and other rescue workers rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. Bomb Disposal Squad said around 10 kg of explosives were used in the blast. However, the bomb’s prime target could not be ascertained immediately. Police registered a case and began investigations.
In another incident, law enforcement agencies seized explosives in Chaman, a bordering town near Afghanistan. Reports said that on a tip-off, the security personnel signaled a truck to stop for routine checking which revealed explosives concealed in the secret cavities in the truck. The three occupants of the truck were arrested for carrying explosives and the truck impounded.
Separately, law enforcement personnel recovered a landmine planted along with road in Kohlu and defused it with the help of the bomb disposal squad.

  1. Rural population is always left behind in matching the faster growing educational practices of the urban side where adult education system emerges as a ray of hope thus giving a chance to the people for mending their educational loss in a later stage in life.
