Our Balochistan?

According to a news report, the US Congress is debating Balochistan situation in a very negative light. It is very strange because the dissenting Balochistan elements are actually receiving lessons in anti-Pakistan rhetoric, rebellion, and anarchy in Afghanistan which is currently under direct US control. It is very unfortunate that since 1947 the US has adopted a deceptive dual policy with regard to Pakistan. One is overt and the second covert. According to the first, its civilian government and the think tanks have always cried themselves hoarse in favour of a liberal and a secular Pakistan. But as per its covert policy, its Pentagon physically commandeered our country by seizing control of country’s powerful institutions and through them engineered our society and polity to use in its regional balance of power strategy.

The social and economic conditions that resulted from this negative interference threw us centuries back in time virtually into the Stone Age. The aim was to promote and use the prevailing ills of illiteracy including fanaticisms of the masses first against communism and then in the worldwide scheme of terrorism to secure control of the oil rich region. With the US controlling the world monetary system and investment policies of capitalism, they still have a death grip on our jugular vein and can throttle us at any moment. Therefore, it is very odd that the Balochistan card should be used so openly instead of the normal underground tactics. The apparent reason seems to be not that they aim to have a control over the mineral resources of Balochistan. The actual reason, of course, is to create more and more frustration in Baloch population by fanning their sense of loss of hold over their precious resources and thus incite them to insurgency so that the Chinese and the Russians cannot use their influence with the government of Pakistan to gain access to the Persian Gulf through Balochistan.
