A man was killed and another injured seriously in a bomb blast in Khuzdar district, 320kms southwest of Quetta on Friday. Police officials said the bomb, attached to a donkey cart, went off near a bridge in Katan area in the outskirts of Khuzdar. As a result the body parts of the donkey cart’s owner were blown into pieces. Police said it was yet to be confirmed whether the cart owner was carrying the explosive or somebody had placed them in his cart to target the security forces, as the explosion occurred just as cart passed a checkpost of security forces near Katan bridge.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Ibrahim Samalani. The man injured was a passer-by, identified as Ghulam Qadir Sasoli. Meanwhile, two police constables were abducted by unidentified armed men in Naseerabad district, 400kms southeast of Quetta on Friday. Per reports, the armed men, believed to be over a dozen in number, surrounded the two police guards at Naseebullah Khoso checkpost in Sohbatpur area and forced them to surrender. Later, the attackers made away with the two officials. When contacted, District Police Officer Abdul Hai Baloch confirmed the kidnapping and said teams had been sent to the area for the recovery of the two policemen.
