Renowned nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan on Wednesday said that the army chief was answerable for the US drone attacks inside Pakistan because he has taken an oath for safeguarding the borders of the country.
“If India attacks Pakistan then will the army chief retaliate or wait for the permission of the rulers,” Dr AQ Khan questioned.
Talking to media persons here, he said Pakistani rulers are virtually the slaves of the US, adding that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) while voting against Syria in the United Nation Security Council (UNSC) even did not consult China.
DR. AQ Khan lamented that the PPP has forgotten that Basharul Assad’s father was the only person who supported Bhutto when the entire world left him alone.
Commenting on the distribution of laptops by the Punjab government among the students, he said that this scheme will face the fate of Yellow Cabs Scheme, adding that laptops will be found more in markets and less with the students.
DR AQ Khan said that if Punjab government wants computerization then Shahbaz Sharif should open new computer centres in the province.

    • @ vaniza sadddi although it's a collective responsibility of the entire nation of Pakistan on the barbaric assassination of innocent people including women n children , but the major responsibilities goes to Govt and Military Command, it's the matter of 'Do" or "Die" if somebody could realize this worst situation..

  1. No…. He is not answerable to drone attacks… this is responsibility of civil Govt. to talk with NATO/ISAF/US etc… If our Civil Govt asks army to stop it, Not a single drone will enter pakistan territories 🙂

  2. Absolutely Not . Dr AQ khan , Holding the Wrong End of the Stick . Army Chiefs are our Bosses ; Its a ” Master & Slave Story , As Old As Margalla Hill . ”

  3. Dr. AQ Khan is either ill-informed or he is trying to be. See this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSL79dWf7Y0 in which our PM says that NATO supply-line was cut on his orders. Can DR. AQ Khan or anyone else give me reference of any such statement by Gilani that he has ordered Army/PAF to retaliate against drone attacks? The fact is that Army Chief can not act against drones unless it gets approval from PM. So, only PM is answerable.

  4. Dr Khan must stay away from controversial issues of fixing responsibility and apportioning blame.

The Chief Executive, legally speaking the PM and from Pakistani perspective the President, can order Air Chief to take all appropriate measures to see that the Pakistani Air space is not violated. He can also order Army chief to make sure that any incursions in Pakistani territory either by individuals using its soil for nefarious activities or by foreign troops, in-case it happens, is well taken care of.

If his orders are not carried out he can discipline the chiefs and that is how the civilian supremacy will be established.

But here the agenda is different.

  5. And who is answerabl—- for stealing and smuggling of sensitive nuclear material to foreigners and endangering Pakistan and its citizens safety and security——-you might like to throw also some light on this Janab-e-Aali Doctor Sahaab-e-Mohtaram!

    • I disagree. Your remarks are in bad taste. We cannot deny the position of a National Hero that the good Dr rightfully occupies. He is as true a Pakistani as the Quaid. Even at the time of the enquiry and its results the sititing President Pervez Musharraf described him has his personal hero too. There are times in Nation's history when its Heroes have to be the fall guys too in the best interest of the state and the nation.
