Man kills brother over petty row

A 44-year-old man allegedly shot dead his younger brother, father of one, over a petty dispute in the Shafiqabad Police Station precincts on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Asif of Daoshala.
According to the details, two brothers namely Arif and Asif were running a furniture showroom. On Thursday, a worker namely Hanif, heard the sound of a fire in nearby area and found the body of Asif lying in pool of blood, while Arif claimed that someone had killed his brother.
The police reached the scene and shifted the body to the morgue for autopsy. The police said that on the day of the incident, Arif had a clash with his brother over a petty issue that led to Arif killing his brother. Although no one had submitted an application but the police will proceed with investigations in accordance with the law, the police added.
ROBBED OF VALUABLES WORTH Rs 370,000: Valuables including cash, a cell phone and gold jewellery worth Rs 370,000 were taken away from Tahir Illyas and his family in a robbery in front of their house in Mughalpura on Wednesday night. Police said an FIR (No107/12) had been registered against two unidentified men on Illyas’s complaint. They said the family were entering their house when the robbers, riding a motorcycle, intercepted them and made them surrender their belongings at gunpoint.
MAN KILLS WIFE: Salma, an 18-year-old newly-wed woman, was poisoned to death allegedly by her in-laws in the Sandha Police Station precincts on Thursday.
The police have taken into custody Salma’s husband Muhammad Sakhi, a resident of Abu Bakar Siddique Colony, for interrogation. Salma’s body has been shifted to the morgue for autopsy.
The police said Salma and Sakhi had married eight months ago and quarrelled often.
On Thursday, the couple again quarrelled after which Sakhi allegedly tortured Salma to death. Sakhi has been taken into police custody on the allegations levelled by his in-laws that he has poisoned Salma to death. However, no case has been registered so far.
MOTORCYLE STOLEN: A motorcyle of a journalist, Imran Baig, was stolen from Pakistan Chowk, Icchra. Police have not taken any action so far for the recovery of the motorcyle.
WOMAN CLUBS ‘LECHEROUS’ BROTHER-IN-LAW TO DEATH: A woman clubbed her brother-in-law to death and later torched his body to convert the murder into a suicide case in the Factory Area Police on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Akram Maseeh, a resident of Model Colony Walton Road. The police said Maseeh was residing in a house located a few yards away from the houses of his brothers. On Thursday, one Nadia Bibi, Maseeh’s brother’s wife raised alarm that Maseeh had committed suicide after setting himself ablaze over unknown reasons. Locals and heirs of Akram gathered in the house and after seeing the body of the deceased, they also informed local police.
Investigators of local police, after reaching the scene, started collecting circumstantial evidences and in doing so they observed that Maseeh’s head had been thrashed by the rods over which policemen took Nadia Bibi in their custody.
Nadia Bibi during course of investigations confessed killing Akram Maseeh with a hammer. Police quoting Nadia Bibi said Maseeh had come to Nadia’s house while she was alone and wanted to engage in an illicit relationship with her and that was why she had clubbed him to death. Police registered a case against Nadia on the complaint of deceased’s wife, Razia.
