Recently, the city government of Karachi organised an entertainment programme for the families of the journalists who were members of the Karachi Press Club (KPC).
The government took the families to Karachi Zoo where it served special lunch to the journalists and their families. In addition, the government provided especial security to the journalists and their families.
Anyways, a relative of mine, a journalist and member of KPC, along with his family visited to the zoo as well. What he told me about the zoo amazed me as no noble family could go to the zoo if they faced the same situation that my relative did. He said no sooner did he enter the zoo, he stopped as he found a strange situation in the zoo. He said there were various couples who were involved in immoral activities freely whereas they had no fear of the security personnel.
He further said when he talked to some other journalists concerning the situation, they expressed their concerns saying that this was usual in the zoo and they had no fear of the security personnel because they paid some money to the security guards as bribe so that nobody could ask them about their bad deeds.
It is disgusting that the zoo is becoming a dating point where couples meet and do what they want without any fear. At least a noble family could not visit the zoo in this situation. The government must take stern action against the guilty persons to stem immoral activities in the Karachi Zoo so that families could easily visit it without any hesitation.
